PRESIDENT STREET TOWNHOUSE
The gut renovation of this four story townhouse in Brooklyn's Park Slope neighborhood, created a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom owner's triplex and a garden level rental apartment.
In the triplex, the parlor floor's masonry rear wall was demolished and a new wall of full-height steel and glass windows, with an integrated glass door, were installed. These open onto a new full-width steel deck and stair that leads down to a refurbished rear yard.
The kitchen, relocated to the center of the parlor floor, features Silestone counter tops and back splashes, walnut cabinetry, and a robin's egg blue enameled steel nook that's perfect for pouring your morning coffee and proudly posting the latest family photos.
The house's original staircase was repaired and refinished, and the new hardwood floors were stained a deep ebony.
On the upper floors, frosted glass bedroom doors bring daylight into the landlocked central stair halls, and concealed skylights flood the bathrooms with daylight.
The renovation includes all new systems throughout, including heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and sprinklers.
